About Us
AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, represents and protects the business interests of our members in the independent sector of the corrugated, folding carton, and rigid box industries.
AICC held its first national meeting in the fall of 1974 at the Stouffer’s Riverfront Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. The 90 attendees represented fifty-four companies. They were united by a need to survive, and to set the mission that would serve independent box plant owners and operators.
Ultimately, a purpose emerged and AICC’s influence grew within the industry. It was in these early years that AICC focused on the supply of paper to independents and on the issue of competitiveness, the development of a “level playing field” for independent owners.
AICC, founded in 1974 for independent corrugated converters has since evolved to include independent packaging manufacturers in folding carton, rigid box, and other diverse segments of packaging our members provide.
AICC is the largest organization of corporate members in Corrugated and Paperboard. AICC will continue to leverage our brand to influence industry growth and vitality by being active in industry coalitions – NAM, ICPF, ICCA, CPA. This strengthens our alliances and fosters unity and support of Independents. AICC spearheaded the first Association Summit of packaging industry organizations to provide greater value and continue its interest in co-location and co-branding initiatives for members within the packaging industry. (SuperCorrExpo, Corrugated Week, FBA Safety Awards to name a few.)
